By now, you've probably already heard the song that has the internet going wild, and Hip Hop in shock. AsBig
Sean is preparing to release his sophomore album Hall Of Fame in a
few weeks, last night he decided to release a track that didn't make the
album due to the sample not getting clearance on Twitter. The song is produced
by NO I.D. entitled "Control." Sean tweeted:
"This
one that didn't make the album cuz of the sample BUT IT IS NOT no radio shit..
Straight rap... I'm talking 7min shit... Grimey shit. N it might have Kendrick
n Jay Electronics on it too... 3 different type vibes on it!"
Once
fans got to listen to the song, Twitter went HAM. Even though the song belongs
to Big Sean, Kendrick Lamar's lyrics seemed to have everyone falling out of
their seats and outshining Big Sean and other feature Jay Electronica.
Kendrick Lamar made a Public Service Announcement to all rappers that He is
taking the crown as the "Best Rapper in Hip Hop" and anybody willing
to take the crown has to come get it. Kendrick passionately spit bar for bar,
as some seemed to call it a diss, but simply Kendrick was just letting
everybody know. Kendrick simply has called on a little competition in Hip Hop,
even to his friends. He said:
"I’m
usually homeboys with the same ni**as I’m rhymin’ with/ But this is
hip-hop and them ni**as should know what time it is. And that goes for
Jermaine Cole, Big K.R.I.T, Wale, Pusha T, Meek Mill, A$AP Rocky,
Drake, Big Sean, Jay Electron, Tyler, Mac Miller/ I got love for you all, but
I’m tryna murder you ni**as/ Tryna make sure your core
fans never heard of you ni**as/ They don’t wanna hear not one more noun or
verb from you ni**as.”
Some
artist felt the response was a personal shot such as Joey Bada$$, while
others such as Fabolous and Tyga found it as a way to get
in the studio and step their game up. For the past 24 hours Kendrick
Lamar has been the topic of conversation on all Social Media, some saying he
had the best verse of the year. Kendrick went hard it's no denying that, I
think he put rappers in their place that may be a getting a little too
comfortable. Kendrick also stated that he is the King of New York (he's from Compton) so of course that isn't settling well with some. Everyone is awaiting a song from the artist he named in
the song. Personally I don't think a song responding is necessary, I just think
artist know now it's time to step up their game. What are your thoughts on
Kendrick Lamar's place in Hip-Hop and his verse? Is he the new King of Hip Hop?
Today Big Sean sat down with Vibe Magazine to break down "Control" and his take on Kendrick Lamar's verse. He said that the song was good for Hip Hop and that he didn't feel the need to change his verse after he heard Kendrick's. Sean also admitted that Kendrick shined on the track and he's okay with it.Watch Big Sean explain "Control"
