When attempting to make a statement fashion is usually the first thing one turns to. This week many are questioning what statement "Queen" Beyoncé was attempting to make, as she was spotted wearing a Scooter LaForge custom painted army trench at Sunday's NBA All-Star game. Problem you ask? The jacket resembles the historically racist black face character Sambo or to some the artwork reminds them of the offensive term "pinckinanny" which refers to black children.
Apart from many calling the jacket ugly, several believed her rocking this jacket was inappropriate, especially with this being Black history month. Bey is known for mixing high fashion with urban street wear but she may have taken the fashion combo a little too far with this jacket. Before passing judgement, we must question the designer of the jacket's inspiration behind the artwork and Beyonce's motive for putting it on. Thoughts on Bey's fashion choice??
