Beyoncé Drops a Suprise New Album

Well would you look at what we have here? Beyoncé aka "King Bey" took to social media last night to announce she just released her self titled album Beyoncé on iTunes. Of course social media immediately went in an uproar and the "Beyhive" took over the web!

Just a few days ago, Beyoncé dropped a teaser video to her fans to expect "The Mrs. Carter Tour 2014," in Europe, but no one saw the album coming. This past week, Rob Stringer Columbia Records chairman hinted that a new Beyoncé was coming next year and said it would be "monumental."

Mrs. Carter definitely topped herself with this one, releasing her fifth album on Friday the 13th with no promotion, no singles, no signs of a new album. Some unlucky day for her.The surprise came as an early Christmas gift to her fans. Not only were Beyoncé fans graced with new music, but a digital booklet of photos, and a visual to each song. According to Billboard, Beyoncé sold over 80,000 copies in three hours!


Beyoncé is a combination of R&B, Hip-Hop, and Pop vibes. She had production from some of the hottest producers in the game right now such as Timberland, Key Wane, and The Dream. Bey had features on the album from Drake, Frank Ocean, Chimamanda Ngozi Adiche, daughter Blue Ivy and hubby Jay Z. The uniqueness of the album is that there is a video to accompany the 14-track album, plus three extra videos. Beyoncé experimented with fresh new sounds and beats. She took a much edger and sexier approach with this body of work, showing she is a "Grown Woman." The self-titled album seems to be a great fit for this album.
