Pharrell Shuts Down Critics With 'Marilyn Monroe' Video

Pharrell received a lot of backlash for the cover art of his most recent album GIRL, for the lack of women of color that made the cut for the cover. Even though his album has been very successful with the help of his single "Happy" that's still high on the Billboard charts, Pharrell was has been defending the cover ever since it's release. Still very bothered by the criticism he received about the album cover, he made a bold move to shut the haters up for the cover art for his new single "Marilyn Monroe."

Pharrell admitted that the he created GIRL to show his appreciation for women period. His wife Helen, has an Ethiopian heritage so I wouldn't assume Skateboard P has anything against black women, especially with the love and respect he has for own his mother. All in all, Pharrell closed his defense with the "Marilyn Monroe" video. The video embraces color and all different types of women. The cute video is choreographed by the legendary Fatima Robinson. The song pays homage to beautiful women all around the world. The chorus sings:

She's everything I want, and it's crystal clear
Not even Marilyn Monroe
Queen Cleopatra please
Not even Joan of Arc
That don't mean nothin' to me
I just want a different girl
