A new song has hit the internet from R&B, hippie singer Jhene Aiko. This song is the first single from her highly anticipated LP, "Souled Out." It features Cocaine 80s, with James Fauntleroy providing back-up vocals and No ID handling the production. The song is a hot fusion of techno and a smooth R&B, Hip-Hop sound.
Her EP single The Worst has taken over radio stations nationwide and now we are finally getting a taste of what we can expect from her full-length album. The song is most exclusively about going to "war" for something (or someone) you love. The lyrics command you to listen as Jhene serves her sensitivity and realness.
Suited and booted, I've been hit by Cupid
I'm being recruited
I'm ready for more, I'm ready for war
Hold your position, load up ammunition
I won't fail this mission
Cause baby I'm yours
Jhene performed at Coachella's Arts & Music Festival, and most recently she graced the cover of Vibe Magazine. Jhene has been signed with Def Jam for quite some time and her fans have much awaited the release of her debut solo album. She, along with label mate August Alsina, will be performing at the 2014 BET Awards this Sunday, June 29, 2014 at 8pm ET. She is also nominated for "Best Female R&B/Pop Artist" and her song "The Worst" is nominated for the Centric Award.
What do you think? Are you as willing as Jhene to love and die for your significant other?
