[Concert Review] Usher 'UR Experience' Atlanta: A Stellar Performance

Usher was one of the few great artist this year celebrating 20 years in the music/entertainment industry. Since 1994, Usher has captivated his audience with his music, always having the ability to reinvent himself with each album. Selling millions of albums worldwide and countless sold out tours, it is no doubt that Usher Raymond is one of the best entertainers of his time. With no album out since 2012, and just three new radio singles throughout the course of this year, Usher decided to give his fans a special treat with the "UR Experience."

If you've had the chance to experience an Usher concert before, you know he holds nothing back and makes sure that you get every penny out of your dollar, getting a great night of entertainment. He doesn't grace the stage solo, he comes with the whole package: live band, DJ, background singers, a group of incredible dancers and if you're in the right city possibly even a surprises.

The "UR Experience" made its way to Atlanta, GA December 9th at Phillips Arena. It was a evening that will go down in "A-Town" history. Being an Atlanta native, Usher insured fans they would be in for a great night with many surprises. His performance opened with the classic hit "My Way."

A few songs into his performance, Usher welcome the Atlanta crowd with his first guest of the evening, Young Jeezy. The two performed "Love In This Club" from Usher's 2008 Here I Stand album. With the crowd going crazy, Jezzy then performed his hit "Loose My Mind."

Usher continued performing fan favorites such as "U Remind Me," "Nice & Slow," "U Got It Bad," "Burn," "Bad Girl," "Caught Up," "You Make Me Wanna" and "OMG." He performed hit after hit with minor breaks to catch his breath and some water or a quick outfit change. The Grammy award winner sang live the entire show, showing that he hasn't lost a step or a note over the years. The "UR Experience" is certainly a high energy show that had the audience on their feet all night.

Usher did take time out to slow down the show, with an amazing acoustic twist to his "There Goes My Baby" and "Climax." The best moment of the show was yet to come. Usher brought his longtime friend and producer Jermaine Dupri to the stage, going through their long rap sheet of famous hits together. One of their biggest songs, "Confessions" had the crowd singing along word for word. It wasn't until the beat dropped to one of Atlanta's biggest hits and the crowd saw Lil Jon and Ludacris, the crowd went insane. The energy level in the place was at an all time high. Jermaine Durpi, Usher, Lil Jon, and Ludacris performed "Lovers & Friends" which was a legendary moment.

Usher didn't stop there! He continued the Atlanta party bringing T.I., Young Thug, and Rae Sremmurd to the stage. Juicy J also made a quick appearance to perform his voice on Usher's new single "I Don't Mind." From dollar bills flying, to the A-Town stomp, Usher made sure Atlanta culture was live and prevalent that night.

His opening acts DJ Cassidy and August Alsina assisted with setting the tone for the evening, but truly Usher stole the show. The "UR Experience" is a stellar performance beginning with all of the acts on the tour, including Usher's crew. The simple but elegant set matched Usher's gold mic and matching drum set. Its safe to say, Usher still has more than a decade of entertaining left in hi. Splits and all!
