[Watch] ESPN Pays Tribute To Stuart Scott's Legacy

Stuart Scott
There's a very small chance you've ever watched ESPN or any major sporting event and has not seen or heard Stuart Scott. Known best as the host of ESPN's "SportsCenter," Scott was truly a trial blazer in his field. Coming into mainstream sports broadcasting in the early 90's, Scott Stuart not only created diversity on television but brought a more entertaining way to get your sports recaps.

His career with ESPN began in 1993 and will forever be his home even though he will no longer physically be there. Stuart Scott's charismatic demeanor and his fly style made him stand out amongst his colleagues and bridged a gap with a particular demographic of viewers. His famous catch phrases "Boo-Yah" and "As cool as the other side of the pillow," certainly left no questions on who was reporting during a game.

Stuart Scott has met just about every famous athlete, entertainer, and musician during his time as a major anchor on ESPN, blurring the lines of fashion, sports, music and urban lifestyle on national television. His uniqueness has left a legacy and shoes that can't be filled. A pioneer for sure is what he is, but more importantly he was a family man, a hard worker, a role model and a warrior. Battling the devastating disease of cancer since 2007, Stuart Scott lost his third battle with cancer this past weekend. He was 49 years young. Anyone who knows the ugly effects of cancer knows how extremely difficult it is to witness someone living with the disease.

He gave a profound speak at the 2014 ESPYS, accepting the "Jimmy V Perseverance Award." He spoke on his battle of cancer and how he refused to stop living, stop fighting, and not allowing it to kill his spirit. Filled with emotion, he called for his youngest daughter Sydni, one of the two people he dedicated his life to, to come to the stage and hug him.

Although its never good news to hear the lost of a life, its brings a sense of peace and comfort knowing the person's spirit cannot or will not die. That alone is inspirational enough. We send our condolences to his family, colleagues, and loved ones. SportCenter created a powerful video of the legendary Stuart Scott nnarrated by cancer survivor and friend Robin Roberts.
