I’m very passionate about what I do. I take it very seriously,” said Henson, who received the award from Oprah Winfrey. “God gives us all gifts and for me, I didn’t get into this to win awards, although I’m very honored and blessed every time I’m nominated or get a chance to win one… What it represents to me is that all of the beautiful people and faces and lives that I get to touch through the gift that God gave me. And I take that very seriously…This means so much to me."
A few other winners from the 46th Annual Image Awards included Viola Davis (How To Get Away with Murder), Tracee Ellis-Ross (Black-ish), Anthony Anderson (Black-ish), and Shemar Moore (Criminal Minds).
These individuals are making a name for themselves and are proving to the world that the African-American community can become quite successful in whatever they do.
