Self-proclaimed 'Pretty Flacko' from Harlem, A$AP Rocky, has been busy traveling around the world, taking the fashion world by storm. While being a fashion trendsetter, the Harlem MC has been working on another music project. Now, the Harlem-native has finished his sophomore album, A.L.L.A. (At.Long.Last.A$AP), and plans to release it soon.
Many
sources are claiming that the rapper will be releasing his album in the summer,
but some state that he may be releasing it sooner than that (another surprise
album for the year?). A.L.L.A. was
executive produced by Danger Mouse. It is also stated that Rocky recorded
his sophomore album in Los Angeles and London. What's the meaning behind
the title? In a GQ interview, Rocky stated "I’m claiming ownership of my legacy. Look at
it: At.Long.Last.ASAP. A-L-L-A.
Like slang for ‘Allah.’ It’s the return of the god MC. I’m named after Rakim,
and I’m finally facing what it means: I was born to do this shit. And I hope I
get to do it for a very long time.”
In a separate interview with Billboard, A$AP Rocky stated that this upcoming album will differ from the others because it will contain more diverse musical influences and themes such as "psychedelic '60's London and introspection'". He also mentioned that fans can expect to hear him sing and a trace of an acoustic guitar featured in the album.
Fans around the world are hungry for new music and anticipation is increasing with each and every release of new albums 2015 has had to offer thus far! We are ready for the release of A.L.L.A. now, A$AP!
