New York rapper, Azealia Banks, made her debut with her album, Broke With Expensive Taste, last year. Many know the female rapper from her many public disputes with Lil' Kim, Nicki Minaj and more notably, Australian rapper, Iggy Azalea. She is set to play the lead former Wu-Tang Clan member, RZA's film, Coco.
The film is set in Brooklyn, with Banks playing an aspiring raper who wants a career in hip-hop but is torn by her parents' dream that she finish college. She eventually finds inspiration in class during a poetry slam. Banks will be starring alongside Common, Jill Scott and Lorraine Toussaint. There is not yet a release date.
