Drake originally announced joining the Team Jordan family approaching two years ago. Sneaker fans highly anticipated a sneaker collaboration between Jordan and October's Very Own, which they thought they'd be seeing sooner than later. Originally previewing custom OVO Stingray 10s and 12s, Jordan Brand and OVO have switched up the original preview for a totally different shoe. As if Drake needs any other accolades to make him the current King of Hip-Hop, the exclusive release of his OVO Jordan 10 sneaker this fall will surly solidify his position.
Many Hip-Hop artist have signed deals collaborating with Reebok, Puma and Adidas, but the classic Jordan collaboration has always seemed to fit perfectly with Hip-Hop's style and culture. The Nike Air Jordan sneaker collection has dominated and pushed sneaker culture far beyond any other brand in the past 20 years. The Jordan Brand has also allowed Nike to extend its creativity and join forces with other athletes and musicians over the years. You can thank Mr. Michael Jordan for that!
Since leaving the epic Air Yeezys in the past, Kanye West's new Yeezy Boost sneakers have evolved Hip-Hop's initial introduction to the classic all-white Adidas shell toe. Hip-Hop mogul Russell Simmons and Run DMC bridged the gap between Hip-Hop and sneakers in the 1980s which has been an imprint in Hip-Hop culture since. Pharrell's newest colorful line of Adidas; shell toes has took the all-whites to the next level in 2015. Drake is up next to combine his person style and brand with Air Jordan. His exclusive first release of his OVO Jordan X (Jordan 10 re-release) is a fresh white leather finish with hints of gold and translucent gold bottom. The OVO owl is printed on the inside of the sneaker, with the OVO letters embed on the bottom of the shoe.
Drake has already been spotted out rocking his OVO Air Jordan 10s and gifting them to some of his closest industry friends. He was seen sporting what appeared to be the Jordan 8s at his OVO Fest recently (see photo below). We're sure if he's locked into a nice contract for a few releases of different models of the shoe. For now, sneaker heads and Air Jordan fans can anticipate the OVO Jordan 10s dropping everywhere September 12th.
