Bajan beauty Rihanna has received some of her biggest career singles embracing her Caribbean roots. Her new album ANTI reveals a new sounding Rihanna, a mature, evolved Rihanna. The first single "Work" features friend and rumored beau Drake. The single is without a doubt a crossover track between Hip-Hop, R&B and Pop, while staying true to Reggae. Director of one of the biggest videos of 2015 Drake's "Hotline Bling" X, teamed up with the AubRih duo to bring a fun classic to the fans.
Instantly watching the video, "Work" takes you back to 2002 to another very popular video curated by Little X (at the time), Sean Paul's "Get Busy" video. Very similar to the sexy West Indian dancing, hot basement-like party, even the lighting. Director X is one of Hip-Hop's best video directors and with "Get Busy" being one of his famous videos of the early 2000's, "Work" is a great way to enlighten the youth of his seniority without them even knowing.
Director X wasn't the only director that got his hand in Rihanna's "Work" video. Tim Erem directed a second video. The second video is a completely different vibe; a more intimate, close up interaction between Bad Gal Rih and Champagne Papi. Both videos are super sexy. Pick which one you like best below.
