During the summer is when a lot of people suffer the worst from acne, heat bumps and rashes.
Personally I'm not a huge sweater compared to some, but my face does get a little oily. Here's some tips to prevent breakouts and to keep your skin clear this summer:
- Cut back on the soda, juice, and alcohol. I know it's the summer, full of cookouts and turn ups but it won't hurt to cut a lot of that out
- Eat clean! This should not only be for the summer but year round. Lots of sugars, fried foods, salts, artificial sweeteners. Stay away!
- Sanitize your phone, all the germs from your hands and everything you touch gets right on your cheek along with the grease and oils from your face. Usinga disinfecting wipe or an alcohol pad will work
- Get some good rest
- DON'T sleep in makeup! That's a huge no no, and also wearing light makeup can reduce build up in the pores
- Keep your hands off your face
- Use sunscreen. Find one that works well for you, and don't be afraid to slap it on when you're going out
- Eating about a cup of watermelon each day helps reduce redness and damage from sun exposure
- Wash and prep your face before waxing or tweezing to avoid scarring or spots
- Don't wait to moisturize your skin after a cleansing, certain creams and lotions locks in moisture with the hydration of your skin, don't wait more than a few minutes to lather up
-Minimize dairy. Cow hormones stimulate oil glands in your pores that can lead to acne
- Clean your makeup brushes
- Make sure you wash your hair more often. During the summer because we sweat more and accumulate more dirt in our hair it does affect our face, especially for those who wear their hair in their face
- Don't pick in your face! (Super hard for me because if I see a bump I have to pop it)
- Use products that are oil and alcohol free
- Most importantly drink LOTS of water, stay hydrated but it's no better way to have great skin than drinking water
Hope you can find these helpful!
