It's been a year since Chad Ochocinco and Evelyn Lozada split after a domestic dispute between the two, sending Evelyn to the hospital from damages of Chad head butting her. Chad was arrested and locked up for the assault while Evelyn filed for divorce. The two had a lavish wedding and even signed on to have their own reality show on VH1, but after the drama between their marriage went public, VH1 dropped the show and Chad Ochocinco (formerly Chad Johnson) was cut from the Miami Dolphins right before the start of the season. The couple was only married 41 days from the day of the arrest.
Since her divorce, the Basketball Wives star Evelyn Lozada has put her life together and is trying to find her peace. After being ridiculed for her actions on television, Evelyn claims she has been working on her anger and is trying to change for the better. She has been working on releasing a fitness workout video and indulging in other new business ventures.
Last season on Basketball Wives, Lozada's brother-in-law Anthony was fighting a battle with cancer and wasn't sure if he would be able to walk her down the isle for her wedding. Soon after her split from Chad, Anthony lost his battle with cancer. Evelyn says that her and Anthony were like best friends.
Watch a clip of her talking to her mother about the loss of her brother-in-law and Chad around the same time. Season 5 of Basketball Wives (Miami) airs August 19th at 8pm on VH1. This season's cast consists of Shaunie, Evelyn, Suzie, Tami, and newcomer Tasha Marbury.
