Watch: Jay Z's Picasso Baby: A Performance Arts Film

A few weeks ago, Jay Z performed "Picasso Baby" for six straight hours at Pace Gallery in New York in front of a mixture of people including artists, musicians, journalist, actors, etc. Jay shoot his short film Picasso Baby: A Performance Arts Film which premiered Friday on HBO.

Hov teamed up with Mark Romanek to create the visual for "Picasso Baby," cutting over 30 hours of footage Romanek says down to a 8 minute short film. Jay Z infused art with music in this film, showing that there is no difference between the two. Jay referred to art and Hip-Hop as "cousins." Jay Z was not the only one performing for six hours, yet the performance was an interactive experience between himself and his audience. Everyone had a chance to express their artistic side. The atmosphere seemed to be very interesting."Picasso Baby" is the second single off Magna Carta Holy Grail which sold over 500,000 units in it's first week.  Another classic move by Shawn Carter.

Watch the interview Jay Z did with Bill Maher before the premiere of Picasso Baby. The interview touched a lot of topics such as the conflict with Harry Belafonte, politics, where
Jay Z makes a great point about the extinction of the middle class and crime in inner cities, and possibly being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

In other Jay Z news, Producer Mike Will Made It hints there might be a full version of "Beach is Better" releasing soon, and Jay Z recently announced he's dropping the hyphen in his name, so now it's just Jay Z.
