himself to Hip-Hop with Illmatic, putting him on the map as one the hottest MCs of his time. Coming straight
from the core of Hip-Hop in Queens, New York, Nas' music has always remained true to his Hip-Hop
roots.
It's not many rappers that last in the business for 20 years, but Nas is one of the few who is still going strong. Despite all he’s been through in his career and his personal life, Nas showed he’s still the nastiest in the game with his smooth flow and his dope lyrics after releasing his album Life is Good last summer.

Nas took to his Instagram and Twitter to announce he’ll be dropping Illmatic XX in celebration of Illmatic’s 20th Anniversary.
He wrote:
"TIME FLY’s. Never thought i’d be making music this long. Appreciate the fans and the love. 2014 is the year of Illmatic XX. Album releases 4/15/2014! 20 years! WOW!"
The album will drop days away from it's exact release 20 years ago in 1994. The rerelease will be a dual disc album with exclusive remixes, demo and more! When speaking on Illmatic Nas said:
"With Illmatic, I didn't think about it. I just did it. I believe everybody has good instincts. Now I’m a man from that past and I'm supremely grateful. There's a Nigerian proverb ‘What is past is prologue’. I'm here today because of Illmatic.”
That's not all. Nas has announced he's going on tour to celebrate 20 years in the game. He will also be releasing a documentary Time Is Illmatic, coming soon. He's also preparing to open his sneaker store in Vegas. Illmatic XX is already available for pre-order on iTunes.
