Seattle Seahawks Win First Ever Franchise Super Bowl

New York City--- Last night the Seattle Seahawks put an end to any doubt that they aren't the best team in the NFL right now.

Defeating one of the best known quarter backs in the history of football Peyton Manning, along with one of the best offenses in the league, the Denvor Broncos, the Seakhawks showed they deserved to be champions.

This was the first outside cold weather Super Bowl played at Met Life Stadium in New Jersey. After fearing that their would be bad weather in the New York/New Jersey area where the Super Bowl was hosted this year, luckily for everyone the weather was not an issue. Temperatures last night were slightly over 30 degrees. Some are criticizing that too much focus was put on the weather and not the game itself.

The Seattle Seahawks won Super Bowl 48, with the final score being 43-8. With two turnovers from Peyton Manning and fumbles on the behalf of the Broncos helped the Seahawks secure the lead early in the game.

Leader of Seattle's offense Russell Wilson sure enough brought his A game. He was quick, sharp, and accurate the entire game. Wilson has now become the second black quarterback (man of color) to start and win the Super Bowl (not that his race makes a difference in his playing game).

Russell Wilson is also one of the youngest quarterbacks to win the Super Bowl in his second season. His hard work and dedication to the game is truly inspirational. Even if you aren't a fan of the Seahawks you have to respect Russell Wilson.

Linebacker Malcolm Smith, was honored with the game's MVP, making him the third linebacker in the NFL to receive the  MVP honor. He had an amazing game with two major plays, catching an interception, making a 68-yard touchdown and recovering a fumble. It's no question that Smith's contribution to the game was crucial to Seattle's win.

The men who everyone had their eyes on last night Richard Sherman and Marshawn Lynch both had a great game as well. Richard Sherman was on his best behavior before and after the game, but suffered an injury to his right ankle. He says that he'll be back in tip top shape by August.

Overall, the Seattle Seahawks dominated the Super Bowl offensively and defensively. Although fans were disappointed the game wasn't as thrilling down to the last second as past Super Bowls, the Seahawks played an awesome game. Many were surprised that they were able to beat Denver by a landslide.

As for Peyton Manning, he has not yet announced whether this was his last game or if he will be returning next season.

This was the Seahawks franchise first Super Bowl victory, as well as many of the players on the team. Congratulations to coach Pete Carroll and the Seahawks!
You're going to Disney World!
