[WATCH] New York Teen Opens World's First Sneaker Pawn Shop

Every kid has their own hustle, but one thing that separates 16-year-old Chase Reed from other teenagers is that he turned his hustle into a certified business. There's plenty of self proclaimed "sneakerheads," but how many of them can say they turned their love for kicks into a profit?

New York teen Chase Reed, with the help of his father Troy Reed, opened the first sneaker pawn shop in the world. The idea formed when Chase asked his father for some money to buy a new pair of sneakers. It was a running deal the two had; his father would give him money and hold on to the sneakers until Chase paid off the "debt." After realizing that he could potentially make money, Chase decided to sell his sneaker collection of 200 shoes to jump start his own business! When asked why a sneaker pawn shop, Troy Reed claims, "Young kids don’t have jewelry. They don’t have cars, but what they do have is the thousands of dollars worth of sneakers in their house.” Want to know exactly, how the store works? Watch below:

Just because Chase has his own business, doesn't mean he's not a regular kid. Chase is in school and the Frederick Douglass Academy tenth-grader is still responsible for doing his homework, then helps with the business. His father and uncle, "Uncle Bless," manage the store during the day, and the young entrepreneur is currently progressing his business with his art of custom-painting sneakers.

Sneaker Pawn store is located at Lenox Avenue and West 120th Street in Harlem. So if you're ever in New York and you want to make a little bit of money off your kicks or get a custom-painted shoe, make sure you pay Chase and his dad Troy a visit!
