Chris Brown 'X' Album Review

Chris Brown's newest album X was released on September 16, 2014 and it is already a fan favorite. The album hit iTunes for pre-sale on August 25, 2014 and was released on September 16, 2014. Brown projected that the album would sell 120,000 in its first week. It is not yet revealed how many albums were already sold. The album features Ariana Grande, Lil Wayne, Tyga, Usher, Pick Ross, Trey Songz, R. Kelly, Akon, Kendrick Lamar and Jhene Aiko.

The title of the album has a very symbolic meaning to Brown. He told Ebony:
“It's the Roman numeral for 10. 5/5/89 is my birthday: 5 plus 5 is 10, and this is my tenth year since I got into music. 'X' is the 24th letter in the alphabet, and I will turn 24 when this album comes out. 'X' is also a metaphor, as in 'ex-girlfriend': it implies you're progressing and moving on in life, not holding on to the past and your old ways.”

"Loyal" was the top song on the album. It hit number 9 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and number 10 on the UK Official Singles chart, making it the biggest hit in both the US and the UK. "Fine China" came in second, hitting number 31 on the US Billboard Hot 100.

X is different from most other album that Brown has made. The album is a way for the artist to make redemption. The first song on the album, "X" ends with Brown accepting the mistakes he has made and showing his self-growth.

The album is projected to hit No. 2 on the Billboard 200 chart, behind Barbra Streisand, which is set to be revealed on September 24, 2014.
