Vibes! includes twelve songs and also features Theophilus London and Leon Ware as the creative producers for his sophomore album. Leon Ware is known for producing notable music works including Marvin Gaye's classic "I Want You" and Michael Jackson's first gold record "I Wanna Be Where You Are" he has also worked with legends such as, The Isley Brothers, Ike and Tina, Diana Ross, Quincy Jones, Minnie Riperton and Maxwell. Theophilus London, a Brooklyn native, is known for his genre crossing music, that's why Kanye West was drawn to the artist. Theophilus states that:
"Kanye West decided he wanted to help the culture through my voice and music...He wanted to help me become a better musician and helped mentor me during the process of Vibes! He agreed to be Executive Producer after hearing 'Neu Law' in his car system while driving through Paris." Theophilus also spills about the "Leon is one of my favorite producers. He came to Palm Springs and decided to be a part of the project after hearing the Vibes! demo."
Vibes! was a two year project that was created internationally from Paris to New York to Palm Springs, California. "The name came from the sign of the times. Kids want vibes, so Vibes! it is," explains Theophilus. "This is the first album that I produced and mixed my own music and vision. It's a soulful, progressive, cold-wave that's smooth as fuck. It's smart, sexy, post-punk club music that's island influenced. It's forever, man." I have to agree, just by listening to Tribe featuring Jesse Boykins III. Tribe instantly reminds me of progression because of the great balance of electric yet soulful music. I am excited for the release of the album, my ears will be quite satisfied.
