Starz 'Survivor's Remorse' Renewed for Second Season

Within the first week of premiering its first episode, Starz newest original series Survivor's Remorse was renewed for a second season. The comedy stars a unique combination of cast members not only bringing experience, but a fresh feel to prime time television. The well selected cast displays a great on-camera realistic family chemistry with one another. Survivor's Remorse executive produced by NBA champion LeBron James, taps into the life of Cam Calloway (played by Jessie T. Usher), a recently drafted NBA player to the Atlanta team who is dealing with new found fame and wealth.

The show takes a realistic, comedic, and dramatic approach to the experience of young [black] athletes being drafted into national sporting leagues, with major signing contracts and high profile lifestyles. Survivor's Remorse walks with Cam Calloway as he feels guilt for "making it" out of an hard impoverished life growing up in Boston and feels a sense of entitlement to give back all he has to those who didn't make it out.

Combining the show's online premiere views and Starz premiere viewers, the show's first episode received over 1.3 million views. The six-part series may serve as a supplement to related viewers who tuned in weekly for the network original drama Power, but from its feedback and ratings Survivor's Remorse may be placing itself to be on television longer than two seasons.

Survivor's Remorse also stars Mike Epps, Tichina Arnold, Erica Ash, RonReaco Lee and Teyonah Parris. The series airs Saturdays at 9pm ET. For those that have seen the first two episodes what do you think of the show?
