OutKast #ATLast Stamped A Legendary Weekend In Atlanta & Southern Hip-Hop

Legendary Hip-Hop duo Outkast put on one of the biggest music festivals their city has ever seen. In celebration of the 20th anniversary year of their debut album SouthernPlaylistCadaliacMuzik, Outkast #ATLast, originally set for Friday, September 26th ended up turning into Outkast weekend after selling out of tickets in less than one hour! Set to take place at Centennial Olympic Park in heart of downtown Atlanta, the group added a second show for Saturday, but that still wasn't enough for fellow Atliens. They then added a third show which also sold out.

Being that Big Boi and Andre 3000 haven't created a project, let alone perform together in several years, #ATLast was much more special to true fans. Stemming from "The Dungeon Family" in the SWATS (Southwest Atlanta), Outkast became a staple face of Hip-Hop in not just Atlanta, but the South. Selling over 10 million albums on one album alone and being the first and only Hip-Hop act to this day to win the "Album of the Year" category at the Grammys, Outkast truly deserve the title Kings of the South.

Reuniting for the first time on stage earlier this year at Coachella, the dynamic duo has been killing festival shows all year. It was only right they brought the glory back to where it all began. Earlier in the year, many fans missed Outkast performance at Georgia's Counterpoint Festival, so this was the perfect opportunity at a second chance. In an effort to honor Atlanta's unique Hip-Hop scene, Outkast brought ATL's finest and Southern legends to one stage. Friday, Janelle Monae, Future, 2 Chainz and Bun B ripped the stage before Outkast. Kid Cudi, Childish Gambino and Raury opened Saturday. The "Southern Roundup" Sunday included performances from B.O.B, Killer Mike, 8 Ball, MJG, Bun B, K Camp, Devin the Dude, Kilo, Gipp Goodie, and  DJ Unk.

Many fans purchased passes for each show of the weekend. All three shows came with a different energy, a fresh energy, an energy that I'm sure is indescribable to the artist. Celebrities, family members, friends, label execs, media, The Dungeon Family, and true dirty south day-1 Outkast fans showed up. 3 Stacks "baby mama" Erykah Badu even peaked out of hiding to support Seven's father onstage Sunday night. Organized Noize member Sleepy Brown also joined the duo he gave a shot when they were teenagers, in addition to longtime friend Killer Mike. The legendary weekend closed out with a firework show as Outkast performed "The Whole World," a perfect to a magical weekend in Hip-Hop. If you weren't in Atlanta this weekend, you sure did miss out! We've got you covered. See more pics from the festival below:
