"If You're Reading This, It's Too Late To Stop Drake"! Beyoncé surprised fans with self-titled album last year, which sold 617,000 albums within the first three days. Now, what artists can you think of off the top of your head that can successfully pull that off? Drake? Correct! Drake randomly dropped If You're Reading This, It's Too Late on February 12th. The album has received a great reception and is breaking records for the Toronto-native.
The surprise album is currently #1 on Billboard (which isn't shocking), making it
Drake's fourth chart topper. The album has sold 495,000 copies within the
first three days! On Spotify, Drake's latest album had a stream of 17.3 million
which beats his previous record of 15.8 million streams with 2013 Nothing Was The Same. Drake's album was able to beat Fifty Shades of Grey soundtrack which included a
compilation of songs from artists such as The Weeknd, Annie Lennox, Ellie
Goulding, Beyonce, and more. According to Billboard, "The album's 210,000 start is
the largest sales debut for a soundtrack since Michael
Jackson's This Is It danced in at No. 1 with 373,000
in the week ending Nov. 1, 2009". For someone to be able to drop a
surprise album successfully and beat records in this day in time is quite
incredible.
The self-proclaimed "6 God" will be releasing his
fourth-studio album, Views
From The 6, later on this
year. Drake is undeniably one of the best rappers of this time and when
it's his time to leave this earth, one of his line's will and shall remain in
our minds: "Oh my God, oh my God, If I die, I'm a
legend".
