With Nicki Minaj's "The Pinkprint Tour" vastly approaching, preparations are in order to make the tour a success. Unfortunately, on February 17th, the team was hit with some devastating news: Two of their own were involved in an altercation outside of a Bar & Grill in Philadelphia, which resulted in the fatal stabbing of one member, De'Von Pickett, and another member, Eric Reed, being placed in fair condition.
De'Von Pickett, Nicki Minaj's tour manager, was in Philadelphia with other members of Minaj's team rehearsing for the tour. De'Von Pickett, Eric Reed, and three other friends decided to hang out at Che Bar & Grill. According to police, the group got into another argument with a group of men around in the Bar & Grill. The argument then escalated outside of Che's Bar & Grill, when one of the men from the other group pulled out a knife. The perpetrator stabbed Pickett in the torso and Reed on his left arm and side. Both men were rushed to Albert Einstein's Medical Center, where De'Von Pickett subdued to his wounds and was announced dead at 2:45am. Eric Reed remains in fair condition as of late Wednesday. The perpetrator is still at large and the City of Philadelphia is offering a $20,000 reward for an arrest and conviction in Pickett's death
De'Von Pickett was a well-known tour manager of artists whose worked with the likes of Lady Gaga, Justin Timberlake, Fabolous, Nicki Minaj, K. Michelle, Rihanna, Pharell Williams, etc. He was also the co-founder of BK Nerd & Co. De'Von 'Day Day' Pickett is remembered as a loving and well-respected individual who has touched many lives and he will be heavily missed.
