The beautiful, talented singer/actress, Zendaya Coleman, debuted a new hair style, the trending faux locs, at this year's Oscar's Academy awards. Zendaya's look for the award's show was definitely a fashion-do! Zendaya's hair was a topic of discussion this week, including on E! "Fashion Police". Giuliana Rancic, co-host on "Fashion Police", definitely made a comment about the star's hair that ruffled some feathers.
Giuliana Rancic stated "I feel like she smells like patchouli oil...or maybe weed" stereotyping Zendaya based off of her new hairdo. Rancic's comments stirred up a lot of controversy and social media turned up! Most people would say that Rancic's comment was offensive, degrading, stereotypical, and maybe even racist. The 18-year old young singer/actress responded with a classy, yet mature and powerful response:
The personality later published an official apology to Zendaya and everyone she may have offended with her comment:
Dear @Zendaya, I'm sorry I offended you and others. I was referring to a bohemian chic look. Had NOTHING to do with race and NEVER would!!!

Giuliana Rancic also stated that "I just want everyone
to know I didn't intend to hurt anybody," Rancic said. "But I've
learned it is not my intent that matters; it's the result. And the result is
that people are offended, including Zendaya, and that is not OK."
For future reference Giuliana, be careful what you say because people may interpret the things you say differently than how you meant for it to come off.
