You know you have reached a great height in life and in your career, when you make it on Broadway! Broadway has a new star and she goes by the name of Brandy Norwood! Sounds familiar right? No? Well how about Grammy-award winner, 40 million albums sold, actress on hit-shows and movies such as Moesha, The Game, and Cinderella, etc. Now you remember? Well now, the singer/songwriter/actress will be starring as "Roxie Hart" in Chicago.
Chicago is a musical play surrounding the lives of two vaudevillian murderesses, Velma Kelley and Roxie Hart, locked up in County Jail during the "roaring 20's". Brandy Norwood replaces Paige Davis as Roxie Hart. Norwood will be acting in an eight-week engagement, which started on April 28th, through June 21st at the Ambassador Theatre. Reviews from critics have acclaimed that the actress opened up the play with "a bang"! She shares the stage with Amra-Faye Wright as Velma, John Dossett as Billy Flynn, Raymond Bohour as Amos Hart, NaTasha Yvette Williams as Matron "Mama" Morton, and R.Lowe as Mary Sunshine.
