200 million records sold, 32 Billboard Music Awards, five Grammy Awards, 21 World Music Awards, and 20 American Music Awards later.... Mariah Carey has reached a new career achievement: receiving a star on Hollywood's Walk of Fame!

At the early age of two, Mariah's vocals did not go unnoticed. After Patricia Carey, Mariah Carey's mother, who was also an opera singer and voice coach, heard Mariah imitating her singing, Patricia started on giving Mariah singing lessons at the age of four. By the age of 18, she was signed to Columbia Records. From that point on, Mariah started making history!

Mariah was awarded the star, which happens to be the 2,556th star on the walk of fame, on August 5th. Many were in attendance including fans, her adorable and lovable twins, Moroccan and Monroe, director, Brett Ratner, BET president of programming, Stephen Hill, Epic Records CEO L.A. Reid, and Empire director, Lee Daniels. The self-proclaimed "butterfly" songstress stated the following as she was thanking fans and guests: "Oh my God, this is so overwhelming and emotional, you’re making me cry. This is a huge honor and a dream come true.”

Next stop for MC: Empire??? Stay tuned!
