Raury's 'All We Need' Album Is Really Something You Need To Hear

Early this summer, XXL presented its annual Freshman Class cover featuring 10 of their hottest selected breakout artist. One of those featured artist was a 19 year old rapper named Raury. Raury broke on the scene sometime ago, growing an internet presence and a local fan base in his hometown Atlanta, GA. If you're familiar with Raury, the first time you heard him you probably automatically did two things; classify his style as an artist and thought he sounded very similar to Andre 3000.

Its no secret that the 19 year old familiarizes himself with Andre 3000 and Kid Cudi, but he doesn't seek for you to generalize his music as a mimic to those guys. Although he stands with those comparisons, Raury's music is a combination of new sounds to many of his fans, especially being an artist coming from Atlanta. With a heavy influence on Folk, Soul, Rock and Hip-Hop music, his music reflects a combination of those genres. Being that Atlanta's music scope is very saturated with corny yet catchy dance tracks and hard-hitting trap music, Raury's music is a lot different. He recently appeared on New York's Power 105.1 "The Breakfast Club" where he was asked if he considers himself Hip-Hop. He responded, "I'm a black artist, I'm Hip-Hop."

His new album All We Need is classified on iTunes as "Alternative" but understand it's definitely Hip-Hop. Growing up as a loner and a misfit, Raury's music has seemed to be having a similar experience in the music world, but not in a bad way! All We Need displays Raury's versatility to switch between rapping and singing, mature conscious lyrics and a typical 19 year old guy's lyrics. The great thing about the versatility in his music is that he'll be able to attract a very diverse audience for his fanbase. His goal for this album was to do something completely different from what people are used. Despite performing in sandals and a straw hat, this little guy has some real Hip-Hop bars. The youngster was included in one of this year's BET Hip-Hop Awards cypher's where his freestyle left people  asking "who is that?"

All We Need will make you think, dance, feel really happy, really peaceful and aware of exactly where Raury is from. This guy is definitely up next! Stream his album All We Need with open ears below:
