Kendrick Lamar Brings His #KuntasGrooveSessions To Atlanta

This year has been pretty exceptional for Kendrick Lamar. Not only did he become a Grammy winning artist, he also released one of the most powerful Hip-Hop albums this year, as well as new business ventures. K Dot fans have patiently waited for the LA rapper to hit the road since To Pimp A Butterfly's March release. The "1st Annual Kunta's Groove Sessions" kicked off late October with fellow TDE member Jay Rock. The funk made its way to Atlanta's The Tabernacle to a sold out crowd.

Kendrick performed on a 70's themed pimped-out set, which included silver blinds, a black panther, zebra rug, a white couch and the neon "pimps only" sign. He stepped on stage coming through the silver blinds as the band played uptempo sounds while he gazed into the crowd. As the crowed went wild, Kendrick continued to gaze at the crowd walking back and forth to the mic as if he was pondering on his first words. Finally as the music comes to a climax and excited Lamar utters "this d**k aint freee!" He vastly recites the "For Free" poem then moving into "Wesley's Theory."

The energy in the building was amazing! The audience literally had the floor jumping. The funk and groove was definitely brought to The Tabernacle that night as Dot traveled through a journey of some of his top hits.
