Queen Latifah's Flavor Unit Entertainment, Jermaine Dupri and Intuitive Entertainment present "The Rap Game" to Lifetime Network. The show follows five young rappers competing to be signed to Jermaine Dupri's So So Def Recordings. In the early 1990's Jermaine hit the jackpot with the success of kid stars Kris Kross. Years later, he found success with teenage rapper Da Brat and group Xscape. Following, Jagged Edge and in 2001 his biggest signee to date Bow Wow. He's also worked with a sea of other artist from a very young age including Usher, Lil Jon and Destiny's Child.
Having a successful career as a record producer and music executive, JD feels he has a thing for finding young talent. Lil Poopy (12), Miss Mulatto (16), Young Lyric (15), Lil Niqo (15) and Supa Peach (12) all caught the eye of Dupri and show executives. All from different places and backgrounds, each kid brings their own style and rhymes to "The Rap Game." Hungry for success and eager to make it big, these youngsters never hesitated to step up to the plate and show what they got knowing it can only be one winner. Unlike many young artist JD has worked with in his early days, each artist on the show came already with their own brand and following.
The eight-episode premiere season of "The Rap Game" airs January 1st at 10pm on Lifetime. We had a chance to meet all of the kids and we think you'll love them!
