Did People Care More About Monica Singing the National Anthem Than Floyd Mayweather Winning the Fight?

 It wasn't so surprising when Floyd Mayweather was unanimously determined the winner in his Saturday night match with Marcos Maidana.  One thing that was surprising that night was 33 year-old Monica Brown, who sang the National Anthem before the match.  This Grammy Award winning singer definitely reminded the audience that even though she doesn't have a hit single out right now, she is still a power house vocalist.

 
Ms. Brown wasted no time in hitting very strong and clean notes as she began singing an a capella version of the song.  Monica took her precious time singing, some might even say she took a little too long.  Monica held the lyrics “red glare” for at least ten seconds and the last note of the song for at least nine seconds, a breath taking performance to say the least.  At the end of the night, Mayweather walks out the ring once again undefeated.    Showing off his TBE, “The Best Ever,” apparel and his new belt,  we will have to stay tuned to see if Money Mayweather issues that knock out he promises Maidana in a rematch.
