Miguel is hands-down one of the most versatile, R&B artists that the world knows! His ability to combine his influences and showcase it in his music is phenomenal. Miguel's creativity has not been one to be boxed and has resulted in the musical expansion of his sound. A prime example of this can be found in "Face the Sun", one of three new hit singles he recently released from his forthcoming album, WILDHEART.
Miguel first came onto the music scene in 2004. He was signed to a independent music label called Black Ice. During his time with the label, he was able to release his first studio album, Young & Free, and he learned how to take control of the way his brand was marketed and how to differentiate himself from other artists. In 2007, Miguel signed with Jive Records. In the years to come, albums such All I Want Is You and Kaleidoscope Dream were created, which received more musical acclaim from the world. The singer then went on to receive a Grammy for "Adorn".
Miguel's sound is known to be smooth, sensual, and sexy. His forthcoming album, Wildheart (which is planned to be released on June 29th), stems from how Miguel is. In a recent interview with Hot 97, Miguel stated "I’m wild at heart. It just means I follow my instincts and that’s what this album’s
about..". Fans are anxiously waiting to hear what Miguel is bringing to the table with the album, but for now they will have to get a taste from the three new singles from the album Miguel released.
"Face the Sun" is one of the new singles from the album that Miguel released. The single features one of the world's top rock stars, Lenny Kravitz. The song is infused with rock (guitar solo from Kravitz) and R&B style. Miguel sings about his flaws and experiencing ups and downs with a special someone. He sings about belonging to someone (possibly dedicated to girlfriend of 10 years, model Nazanin Mandi) at the end of the day, for forever (Awwww!)
